Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak target Caf Champions League

Councilor Frank Nelson Nwokolo looks forward to the Phobians campaign in the elite continental championship

Frank Nelson Nwokolo, board member of Hearts of Oak, has revealed that the club will add reinforcements to the team before taking part in the Caf Champions League next season.

The Phobians will represent Ghana in next season’s continental interclub competition after stepping out of the Premier League on Sunday.

With a 1-1 draw with Liberty Professionals, Hearts confirmed their place as Ghana champions with one game left.

“If we go to Africa, we have to add the team. We also have to make some launches, because we are going to play with big teams, “said Nwokolo. Citi Sports.

“We know our boys are very good, but at the end of the day we want to prove that we are equally good.

“The teams we are going to meet need to know that we are not just there to add up the numbers, but for a reason. The reason is that we have to do what we did in 2000 and 2004 by lifting the trophies in Africa.

‘We definitely need the game changers, and we’ll bring them to the club. We know they’re there. ‘

Hearts have now won the Ghana Premier League 20 times, three less than arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.

This is the Accra – based outfit’s first success since 2009.

“There seems to be something unique in the Hearts of Oak team,” said Boadu, who joined Medeama’s Hearts in March, as reported by African foot.

‘Because when I came, they welcomed me and supported me a lot, especially the management and the fans.

“They always advised me, encouraged me and said I could do it, so I had to hurry it up.

“I will make sure I will not be swollen. I will make sure I work extra. It is a motivating cup or win, so it will prepare me to go higher and higher.”

Hearts, the second most successful club in GPL history, play Wafa in their final match in the 2020-21 Premier League.
