Hakimi starts a PSG career with help with the blows of Le Mans

The Moroccan winger got off to a good start in the French capital when Mauricio Pochettino’s team began preparations for the new season with a victory.

Achraf Hakimi started his PSG career with an assistant when the Ligue 1 giants knocked out third division club Le Mans 4-0 on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old, who signed a five-year deal with Inter in Milan at Paris last Tuesday, made his starting debut in PSG’s first pre-season warm-up match at the club’s training ground.

Hakimi blindfolded in the right-back position and he immediately made an impact that led to the second goal of the day’s host, following Mauro Icardi’s opening in the 12th minute.

After a good team move, the two-time Caf Youth Player of the Year linked up with Ismael Gharbi who doubled their lead in the 35th minute.

Hakimi was on the parade for just 45 minutes before Mauricio Pochettino made six changes at half-time. The International Morocco has been replaced by Nathan Bitumazala.

Abdou Diallo and Idrissa Gueye of Senegal were also in action for PSG from the start, and the latter got the captain in the absence of Marquinhos.

Gueye was replaced by Xavi Simons at half-time, while Diallo played 78 minutes before coming out for Teddy Alloh.

PSG were active in the transfer window this summer and strengthened their defense with key notes.

On Wednesday, the Parisians announced the arrival of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma after reuniting Hakimi with former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

“We want to apply the same principles as last season,” Pochettino said. club website. ‘We want to be an aggressive team in the true sense of the word, be dominant on the field and play in the half of the opponent.

“We like to play well and understand our players’ games. We work to have the best understanding in the field, more than just the system we use. We are clear about what we expect, about the mentality and about the principles of the game.

‘And above all the fact that we want to win every game, which is a standard for a club like Paris Saint-Germain. It is our biggest challenge to make sure we do not differentiate between competitions, and to play every game with the same desire to win. ”

PSG will continue their preparations for the 2021-22 season on Saturday with another friendly match against third division club Chambly.

They will then start the new campaign with the Super Cup clash with Ligue 1 champions Lille on 31 July. Their quest for the leading crown will begin on August 7, with an away game against the newly promoted Troyes.
