Among his three appearances in Ligue 1, Uber Eats, last season, the most striking is that of the 36th day. Opposite Paris, Bruno Genesio establishes himself in the Breton midfield.

The 17-year-old midfielder said after signing the contract: ‘It is very proud. This is the reward for my efforts. I want to thank Stade Rennais, my parents and my agents.

“I am very happy. I worked for this. I was very well received in the professional group. It was not difficult to fit in. The leaders trust the young people. It is good for the future of the club.

“The goal is to impose myself in the group, to play more and more matches, and why not impose me as a container? I am a child of the club and am very proud of it. ”

Florian Maurice, sporting director of Rennes, explained why they had extended his stay: ‘It is deserving of what he has shown. He has always been at work. He is a very well educated boy with a great mentality. It is a pleasure for a coach to have players like him in training.

β€œHe is eager to learn without being too impatient. He had the chance to play on matches and play against Paris. If you’re 17, it’s still fantastic. What happens to him is deserving. This is not an end in itself. We have to keep working. He needs to have more ambition. The club is very pleased with this signing.

‘If you’re that age, you still have a lot of things to confirm, but everything he puts into the workout will enable him to progress and take the stage step by step. He must continue to move forward. He really has a high profile. He must strive for great things. ”

Ugochukwu was born in Rennes to Nigerian parents in 2004 and is the nephew of the former OGC Nice, Rennes, and the Nigerian center, Onyekachi Apam. .
