The Ivory Coast international has started with his greatest strength and his ability to get past his opponents in matches
Manchester United forward Amad Diallo described his dribbling prowess as a gift he displayed with his technique and intelligence.
Despite playing eight games in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team last season, the 19-year-old showed a glimpse of his creativity in his first few months in Manchester.
The former Atalanta youngster who clocked 19 on Sunday told how his instinct helps him bypass opponents during matches.
The Diallo tells the club’s website: “It is difficult! But honestly, I think it’s a gift. I think you dribble using your technique and your intelligence.
‘For example, when faced with two defenders, you may not be able to dribble, or you can only play one-two, so you need to use your head and skills to decide what to do first and then move on to your next. Therefore, when I have the ball, I think about what I can do, play one-two, dribble, that’s what I think. ”
Diallo helped his Premier League debut with Luke Shaw in their 2-1 defeat to Leicester City on 11 May.
Before the trip, he opened his scoring account for the Red Devils in a Uefa Europa League match against AC Milan, which ended in a 1-1 draw in March.
The Ivory Coast international has revealed that his bravery is still his greatest strength.
“To tell you the truth, I’m never afraid to play. It’s always been my strength, and was never afraid to play,” he added.
‘When they told me the day before the game that I was going to play against Leicester. Okay, I was a little nervous at first, but it’s football, you can never be scared.
“When I entered the field, I could only see 11 players against another 11 players and I think it went well, as you say.”
Diallo was selected along with Eric Bailly for the Ivory Coast campaign during the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, and their group D excursions will start on July 22 against Saudi Arabia before facing Brazil and Germany on July 25 and 28, respectively.
The duo is expected to miss Manchester United’s opening match against Leeds United in the Premier League on August 14.
