Irish golfer Niall Kearney took a two-stroke lead after the second round of the BMW International Open on Friday.
Kearney shot a 4-under-par 68 to end the day at 11-under while chasing what would be his first European tour title.
Viktor Hovland, Bernd Wiesberger, Masahiro Kawamura, Adrien sad and Jorge Campill share second place at 9 below, with the US Open runner-up Louis Oosthuizen and two-time big winner Martin Kaymer part of a group two shots further back.
Kearney recorded his best European tour in a fourth in the Canary Islands championship in May thanks to a final 61, but he missed the cut in his last three times.
Sam Horsfield and Sebastian garcia Rodriguez was the frontrunner when the first round was completed Friday morning after the game was suspended on Thursday due to the lightning threat. Garcia Rodriguez finished the second round at 7 under, while Horsfield fell back to 3 under for the tournament after shooting a 5-over 77.
