Seema: Ex-Orlando Pirates captain to sign ‘big contract’ after Chippa United’s exit – Mpengesi

It is rumored that the retired center-back is on his way to a KwaZulu-Natal team after leaving the Chilli Boys

Chippa United chairman Siviwe Mpengesi has revealed that Lehlohonolo Seema will sign a lucrative deal elsewhere after leaving the Eastern Cape team.

Seema returned to the Chilli Boys at the end of the PSL season 2020/21, while the team was 15th on the league standings.

The 41-year-old tactician sent Chippa to a win and a draw against Richards Bays, the National First Division, during the PSL play-off match.

The Chilli Boys are expected to score two straight wins over Royal AM, who could not honor their play-offs due to their ongoing court battle with the PSL.

Mpengesi has now confirmed Seema has parted ways with the club amid rumors linking the Lesotho tactician to the Lamontville Golden Arrows.

“We said goodbye to Seema because he has a big contract elsewhere ….. we welcome other applications,” Mpengesi said Marawa Sports Worldwide Wednesday night.

The Arrows coaching position is currently vacant following Mandla Ncikazi’s departure with the 52-year-old tactician who joined the Orlando Pirates’ technical team last month.

Abafana Bes’thende need a replacement for Ncikazi, who left the KwaZulu-Natal team after a successful 2020/21 campaign with the club.

Ncikazi led Arrows to the top spot in the PSL as the team finished fourth on the league standings and his performance earned him a big move to Pirates.

Seema, who was a former Pirates captain, has been nomadic since leaving his first head coaching job at Bloemfontein Celtic in July 2020.

The former Lesotho international joined Chippa shortly after leaving Celtic, leading the Chilli Boys to safety while the team did not have to avoid relegation to the NFD during the 2019/20 season.

However, Seema was sacked by the Eastern Cape team due to a poor result in December 2020 and he moved to Black Leopards halfway through the recent 2020/21 campaign.

He divorced at the end of the term from a struggling Leopard side and he returned to Chippa early last month.
