The youngster was the subject of a substantial bid from Aston Villa that was rejected
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta maintains that Emile Smith Rowe will not be allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Smith-Rowe, 20, has been the focus of Aston Villa’s attention since the window reopened.
Despite the Villans’ pursuit, Arsenal are not interested in a sale has rejected a bid of £ 30 million ($ 42 million) for his service.
What was said?
“Without a question. Yes. He will stay here. 100%,” Arteta said in quotes published by The Athletics when asked about his young charge.
When the manager inquired about Villa’s interest, he replied, “No comment.”
Smith Rowe beat Hibernian’s only goal on Tuesday in an otherwise disappointing 2-1 friendly reverse position, and Arteta was delighted to see he posed a threat in the area.
“He knows it’s part of the game in which he needs to get better. We’re working on it a lot and you can see the positions he took today. He’s created two or three great chances,” he added.
‘The best player at this club last season’
Another of Arteta’s young charges became sad over the weekend when Bukayo Saka missed England’s fifth, decisive shooting to clinch the final defeat of Euro 2020 against Italy.
“I have [spoken to him]”We all have,” the driver explained.
“He was no more, but the support, love and admiration of everyone in world football is in my opinion the biggest trophy he can get.
‘He had an incredible season, he was the best season in our club, he played for England and at 19 he deserved the place to play there.
“What else do you want? Yes, the cup, but you can not have everything in this football.”
