‘A good start’ – Musa enjoys Fatih Karagumruk’s dream debut

The Super Eagle is delighted with how his game against the men of Erol Bulut went, where he scored during his Black Red debut

Ahmed Musa is delighted to have made a sharp debut in Fatih Karagumruk’s 3-2 victory over Gaziantep in Saturday’s Turkish Super Light match.

After a brief stint at Kano Pillars, the 28-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Istanbul side, with the option to pay another year.

Musa was mentioned in the Black X starting lineup, and he repaid Francesco Farioli’s faith in him by contributing a goal in the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

After receiving a pass from Kerim Frei, former VVV Venlo and CSKA Moscow beat his star before hitting the ball past goalkeeper Gunay Guvenc.

The wing was on parade from start to finish as his team started a win in the Turkish elite division in 2021-22.

The Nigerian went to social media to celebrate his goal as well as the victory of his team over the team of Erol Bulut.

“A good start, we move on, mates,” he wrote on Instagram.

Musa started his European expedition on the Eredivisie side of Venlo, and his impressive performances on the Dutch side led him to sign for the Russian top team CSKA Moscow.

After winning three Premier League titles, one Russian Cup and two Russia Super Cups with the Horses in his four-year tenure, he joined Leicester City on 8 July 2016 for a club record of £ 16.6 million.

His inability to secure a regular place at King Power Stadium led him to loan to CSKA Moscow before entering into a permanent deal with Al Nassr in 2018.

The Asian outfit beat several European clubs with the signing of the fast forward who impressed with two goals in three matches during the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

He parted ways with Saudi pro league Al Nassr on October 25, 2020, before moving to Sai Masu Gida for a second time.

“I was very impressed with the team’s philosophy, style of play and it’s clearly an ambitious club,” Musa told BBC Sport Africa about what inspired his move to Karagumruk.

“I feel longed for and that’s what made the difference. I want to repay the faith. I can’t wait to get in touch with my teammates and help the club achieve their ambitions.”
