Barcelona star Dest forced to injure in first half of USMNT clash with Canada

Barcelona defender Sergino Dest has been ruled out of the U.S. men’s qualifying match with Canada due to an ankle injury.

Dest was forced out in the 44th minute after a fairly brilliant start, as the Barca star was injured just a few minutes before half-time.

He was replaced by DeAndre Yedlin, who robbed the US of another starter after already starting the game without Weston McKennie, Gio Reyna and Zack Steffen.

Dest se impak

Dest started Sunday’s game on the right after previously playing left in the USMNT’s preliminary round.

He struggled in the opening game against El Salvador, which spurred Gregg Berhalter to recover on the more famous right wing, with Antonee Robinson playing left.

Dest started well and created a chance that was pushed away by Milan Borjan, before he sustained his injury just before half-time.
