The French defender of Ivorian descent joined the Red and Black from the Stade Bollaert-Delelis giants
Light 1 team Rennes has announced the signing of Loic Bade from RC Lens.
After an impressive outing in the 2020-21 campaign where he competed in 31 French top flight matches for the Blood and Gold, the defender of Ivory descent was awarded a five-year contract.
The deal keeps the 21-year-old Frenchman in Roazhon Park until 2026, though the fee will not be announced.
‘The former Lensois is highly sought after after a full season in Uber Eats in Ligue 1, and chose the Rennes project. Permanent central defender Loic Bade has signed a five-year contract with the Red and Black. “Loic Bade was originally born in Hauts-de-Seine on April 11, 2000 in Sevres,” reads a statement from read the club website.
Under manager Bruno Genesio, Bade would hope to continue his growth in professional football.
Despite the choice to choose from, the youngster claims that the project in Rennes excites him. Therefore, he decided to work with the club that would help him realize his ambitions to play in Europe.
“I’m very happy to be involved with Stade Rennais FC. I’m officially Red and Black, and it’s a great joy,” Bade told the club’s website.
“There were other clubs, but my choice was natural. I had ambitions. This is a very thoughtful choice. I think this is the right one.
‘It’s important for me to stay in France. Their sports project quickly got me excited. I was convinced of the goals of the club. It suited me.
‘There are benefits to coming at this time of preparation. I will have time to adjust to my new team. I can not wait to get to know the Rennes fans. ”
Meanwhile, the club’s technical director Florian Maurice said the defender is a priority and that they should recruit him.
“We absolutely wanted to recruit him. It was a priority,” Maurice said.
“He had a great season with Lens. We followed him all season. He was studied in all respects.
“He’s still a young player and does not have much experience yet, but we need not be afraid. He has character and he really is a posh guy.
‘I’m convinced of its features. They are physically and technically very interesting.
‘We have a team that plays, and we want players who take the balls out from behind. It meets the characteristics that the coach asks for. ”
Bade, who is eligible to represent France or Ivory Coast internationally, could make his debut as Rennes take on Le Havre on Friday.
