Besiktas gets Pjanic loan while Barcelona’s cuts continue

The midfielder should see an increase in playing time after his move to Turkey

Barcelona on Thursday announced the loan of Miralem Pjanic to Besiktas as their team reduction continues.

Pjanic follows Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, Ilaix Moriba and many others from Camp Nou with the club desperate to settle wages and reduce debt.

The midfielder spent just one season in Spain after arriving from Juventus last year.

Besiktas announced on their official website that they will pay € 2.7 million to secure the player.

His loan lasts until next June.

Pjanic’s record in La Liga

The 31-year-old started just six times last year as injuries and poor form kept him out of Ronald Koeman’s plans.

However, his contributions to Serie A before joining Barcelona were significant, and Besiktas will hope to return to the level at which he played for Juventus.
