The academic, who was loaned out to Vitesse last season, will get his first Premier League move
Southampton have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja for a season-long loan deal.
The 19-year-old signed a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge this summer and impressed under Thomas Tuchel in the preseason.
However, despite scoring four different games before the season, Chelsea have decided to loan the youngster over as he will complete a £ 98m ($ 136m) deal for Inter’s Romelu Lukaku.
What will Broja’s situation be in Southampton?
Broja faces the difficult task of replacing former Saints center Danny Ings, who joined Aston Villa for £ 25 million last week.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have also agreed a £ 15m fee to sign Adam Armstrong at championship club Blackburn Rovers.
Armstrong will compete for a spot with Broja and people like Che Adams and Shane Long.
What are Chelsea’s transfer plans?
Chelsea’s next big goal is to sign Jules Kounde at Sevilla after their initial exchange deal with Kurt Zouma was rejected.
Sevilla are asking € 80m (£ 68m / $ 95m) for their international defender in France and rejected the idea of including people like Emerson Palmieri or Kenedy in the deal.
The Blues are also considering adding a central midfielder, including West Ham’s Declan Rice, Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni and Rennes’ Edouardo Camavinga.
However, sales are a bigger priority than adding a midfielder, and Tuchel emphasizes that he currently has 42 players in his squad.
Upon the return of Chelsea’s loan group, Tuchel has worked with a large number of players over the past few weeks, so Tiemoue Bakayoko, Davide Zappacosta and Danny Drinkwater will be sold, while others will be loaned out. such as Trevoh Chalobah and Dujon Sterling.
First-timers such as Zouma, Tammy Abraham, Emerson and Marcos Alonso are also considering possible exits from the club in west London.
Abraham has interests like Arsenal, Roma and Atalanta. Meanwhile, Chelsea have rejected a £ 20m West Ham offer for Zouma.
