Bryson DeChambeau picks instructor Brian Zeigler as new caddy

Bryson DeChambeau has a new caddy.

Brian Zeigler, an instructor at Dallas National where DeChambeau plays and practices, will be on the bag next week when DeChambeau performs at The Open in Royal St. Louis. George’s in Sandwich, England, play.

DeChambeau, an eight-time PGA Tour winner of the 2020 U.S. Open, announced the decision via social media.

“Jump into the deep end!”, DeChambeau said. ‘Excited to have Brian Zeigler join the team as my new caddy. Can’t wait for him to be part of the journey. Many thanks to my good friend Tim Tucker for all he has done for me. I am grateful for our friendship. ”

Tucker worked most of his professional career at DeChambeau, but the two separated from the Rocket Mortgage Classic this week. DeChambeau calls it a ‘break’ and the two met on the eve of the tournament after Tucker worked the practice rounds and pro-amms.

DeChambeau missed the track in the tournament and has been the subject of much drama lately, including his ongoing feud with Brooks Koepka and then a back nine 44 on Torrey Pines on the final day that cost him a chance to win the US Open, where he was 26th tied.

Dallas National is also home to Chris Como, DeChambeau’s head instructor. The Open begins on July 15.
