Chidera Ejike scored CSKA Moscow’s only goal in their 2-1 defeat against Dinamo Moscow in the Premier League clash on Sunday.
The 23-year-old has joined Aleksei Berezutski’s starting line-up at the VTB Arena after replacing Ufa and Lokomotiv Moscow in the last two outings.
Ejuke did not waste time and he immediately fired the visitors with his opener from the eighth minute, but it was not enough to ensure maximum points.
The opener separated both teams for almost an hour until Daniil Fomin turned the match around for Dinamo Moscow with his goals in the 58th and 73rd minutes.
Ejuke was on parade from start to finish, his third competition in the league for the Red Blues who suffered backbone losses after the 2-1 defeat against Lokomotiv Moscow last Saturday.
Dinamo Moscow, on the other hand, had Clinton N’Jie of Cameroon in action for 62 minutes before being replaced, while Sylvester Igboun of Nigeria was an unused substitute.
The defeat reduced CSKA Moscow to 10th place in the Premier League table by three points after three matches, while Dinamo Moscow rose to third place by nine points, behind leaders Zenit St. Petersburg. Petersburg and Rubin Kazan in second place with the same number of points. but a higher goal difference.
Ejuke will try to help the Red Blues change their form when they visit Rostov in 19th place for their next league game on August 14, while Dinamo have an appointment with Akhmat Grozny on the same date.
The former youth international in Nigeria has proved his goals in the team of Aleksei Berezutski since joining the Dutch Eredivisie club Heerenveen in August 2020.
He made his Super Eagles debut in an international friendly against Tunisia that ended in a 1-1 draw in October last year, after replacing Samuel Chukwueze in the 78th minute.
