Cricket fans around the world are greatly impressed by Team Indiarecent performances in the two Tests against England. The Virat Kohli and Co. was in the driver’s seat in the first Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, but due to constant rain interruptions, the match ended in a draw.
In the second Test at the Lords Cricket Ground in London, the visitors also played top quality cricket and the home team played out completely, defeated them by a large margin of 151 runs.
Not to mention, the tour party will have a lot of confidence when they would enter Headingley in Leeds for the third Test of the continuing series of five matches. The third match starts on Wednesday (August 25), and a victory in this match will give India an insurmountable 2-0 lead in the series.
Apart from the brilliant performance of cricket, another thing that caught the attention of the masses was the quarrels between the players. Unlike in the past, the sled works in favor of tourists. Many fans and experts of the game reckoned that Team India, led by Kohli, was trying to get under England’s skin.
Before meeting Leeds, however, the vice-captain of India was Ajinkya Rahane denied such allegations, saying his team only focuses on playing good cricket.
‘We do not think so (to get under England’s skin). It is important for us to play good cricket, stay in the moment and play one game at a time, ” says Rahane as he addresses the media before the third Test.
‘What happened in the last game, we just have to forget; we need to go on and on positively. Because every match is very important because of the (World Test) championship, ” he added.
