ENG vs IND: Inzamam-ul-Haq praises Indian pacemakers for their high-quality performance in the Trent Bridge Test

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq praised the Indian pacemakers for their incredible performance in the ongoing first Test England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. In the first innings, India brought the hosts together for 183 runs, while in the second set, the visitors tackle England for 303.

Interestingly, all 20 wickets were taken by fast bowlers, and it was only the second time in the history of Indian Test cricket that passers-by picked up all 20 headbands. The only other case is opposed South Africa in 2018 in Johannesburg.

Jasprit Bumrah took nine wickets in the second innings, including a five-wicket wicket. Just like that, Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur each packed with four scalps. The remaining three wickets were taken by Mohammed Siraj.

Inzamam was very impressed by the excellent bowling performance of Indian passers-by. He reckoned that bowlers on the continent tend to struggle especially in the first Test in England, but Indian speedsters have completely demoralized England’s batting.

“With their fast bowling on the first day, Team India determined the rhythm for the series. They immediately put England on the back foot. Subcontinent bowlers often find it difficult in the first Test, as the lines to be bowled in England are different. The bowlers of Team India demoralized the batting of England, “ says Inzamam on his Youtube channel.

The 51-year-old believes India has also produced some high-quality fast bowlers in the past, but the current bowling lineup is the best as he has never seen such aggression in the Indian pace bowling unit.

“Bumrah picked up four wickets in the first innings and put England on the back foot. Joe Root also scored a fifty in the first innings, but Bumrah never allowed himself to feel comfortable. The other pacers like Mohammed Shami and Siraj are also brilliant. I have never seen such an Indian fast bowling match. Team India has also produced very good fast bowlers in the past. But the current Indian pacemakers have a sincere aggression of fast bowlers. If you have aggressive pacers, such actions will definitely come, ” added Inzamam.
