Former versatile Irfan Pathan is behind Team India to win the now canceled fifth Test England whenever it occurs. He also praised the side of Virat Kohli for their brilliant performances in the summer, which now put them ahead 4-1 after four games.
The fifth and final Test of the series, which was to be held in Manchester from Friday, was postponed the morning of the match after the Indian players expressed their concern about the campaign amid the Covid-19 scare in their locker room.
After head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and field coach R Sridhar – who are all currently isolated in London – assistant physio Yogesh Parmar took a positive Covid-19 test on Wednesday. The Indian players have been worried since Parmar, as a physiotherapist, was in close contact with them.
Irfan Pathan believes India will be the favorite for the match if that happens.
India showed an excellent character and fighting spirit during the series. Giving it back to them with the best skills was something to be proud of on this team. “I’m sure India will be the favorite when this’ postponed ‘match is held,’ tweeted Irfan Pathan.
