The former Nigerian star helped the People’s Team to intensify their preparations for next season with a friendly victory in Austria
Victor Moses scored a goal when Spartak Moscow sailed 4-2 over Croatian top club Sibenik in a pre-season friendly match on Monday in a pre-season match.
After completing a permanent transfer from Chelsea on Friday, the 30-year-old scored his second goal for the Russian Premier League club in four days.
The same day when he drafted a two-year deal with Rui Vitoria’s team, Moses found the back of the net when Spartak NK Bravo drew 2-2 at Landskron Stadium.
Jorrit Hendrix opened the scoring for the People’s team in the 36th minute and Moses doubled their lead after completing a good team move just before the break.
After the resumption, Marko Juric inspired the Croatians’ fightback with his strike from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute, which led to their equalizer seven minutes later, thanks to Delic’s effort.
Spartak Moscow, however, restored their lead and secured the victory with goals from Maksim Glushenkov and Mikhail Ignatov in the 68th and 85th minutes respectively.
Monday’s meeting put an end to Spartak’s training tour in Austria and they will return to Moscow to continue their preparations for the 2021-22 campaign.
They will face league rivals Sochi, Rubin Kazan and Khimki in the coming days before opening their Premier League season 2021-22 with a trip to Rubin Kazan on July 24.
After his triumph as Spartak Moscow’s Player of the Month award in May, Moses assured the club faithful of his 100 percent, as they want to win the crown on the best flight after finishing second last quarter.
He said: “Thank you. I appreciate it a lot. I will do my best to help the team, and especially to achieve more things this season than last year, ‘Moses said in a video on the club’s YouTube channel.
“The most important thing is to enjoy football, and I will definitely do it this year and help the team win the league.”
