The former Posta Rangers head coach added that he wishes the player strength as he is expected to sign with a new team in a new competition.
“I am always happy for players who get greener pastures, as I also moved to greener pastures during my time at Gor Mahia. If Muguna’s agreement matures, I will definitely have a suitable replacement from within the team,” said Omollo said. Citizen Digital.
“I just want to wish Muguna well, because I also left Gor for another club when I saw an opening and my then coach gave me his blessings.”
Azam has already signed two players, Charles Zulu and Rodgers Kola, as they hope to boost the squad for duties – including continental – ahead next season.
Should he eventually complete the move, Muguna would join his fellow Kenyan international and do their award in the Tanzanian top flight. Farouk Shikhalo is at Yanga SC while Joash Onyango is at Simba SC.
The Tanzania Football Federation has already announced that the transfer window is open for teams playing in the Premier League and in the lower leagues, as well as for women.
Meanwhile, Omollo conceded that they could not retain the FKF Premier League title as they are fifth on the standings, 14 points ahead of leader Tusker.
Although they missed the Champions League final, K’Ogalo will be among the country’s representatives in the Caf competitions after winning the FKF Shield Cup.
The tactician added that the players – who drew 1-1 in the last league game – against Nairobi City Stars – have relaxed since grabbing the Confederation Cup ticket.
“I certainly can not lie. This is not possible [to win the league] at this point, ‘he continues.
“We lost everything when we slipped to Tusker FC. I can say that players are not participating in the match either, because they know very well that they are already in the mainland after winning the FKF Cup.”
Gor Mahia lost more ground in the title race after being recently beaten 2-1 by Tusker.
