Antoine Griezmann became France’s joint third-time scorer of all time on Tuesday when he beat Finland twice in the World Cup qualifier.
Griezmann made the difference for Les Bleus as they secured a 2-0 victory to extend their Group D lead.
The 30-year-old now has 41 goals to his name for France, which equates him with football legend Michel Platini.

Griezmann needs 98 games to match the number of European Championship winners in 1984, while he is now 10 behind leading scorer Thierry Henry.

Tuesday’s victory puts an end to a disappointing run for France.
Didier Deschamps’ team disappointed during Euro 2020 and met Portugal and Hungary before being eliminated by Switzerland in the last 16 phase.
They were drawn 1-1 by Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ukraine last week in the qualifiers of the World Cup last week.
However, Griezmann was pleased with their reaction against Finland and felt that they approached the game with the right mentality.
“We wanted this victory, to show that we are strong and that we have not lost everything,” he said.
“There was a good mood. We gave everything we had on the field, and we tried to hurt them in advance.
“What has changed? Maybe we’ve found a system that suits us better. We’ll see, the coach will decide. But this time we were strong. We drew five times, and it started to take a long time. Here we have won in style. ”
