Legendaries Australia the spinner Shane Warne crowned Team India as the best Test team in the world after Virat Kohli and co. took a win at The Oval, which took all 10 English wickets on day 5 — just like at Lord’s in the second Test — and took an insurmountable 2-1 lead in the series.
In the last day at 77/0, England kept the 368-run goal in mind. However, after losing their first wicket with the score of 100, Indian bowlers went through the English batting line-up and bowled them out early in the third session.
Shane Warne used Twitter to praise the Asian giants, not only for their victory at The Oval, but also for their enormous success in red ball cricket over the past 12 months — starting with the victory in Australia with several first-choice players.
“Congratulations .@imVkohli and the entire Indian team with another amazing win. What you all have accomplished together over the past 12 months is absolutely amazing! It is clear that the best test team in the world and the title are well deserved! Long live Test cricket, ”tweeted Shane Warne.
This is the first time since 1986 that India have won two Tests during a tour of England; they would win the fifth Test to win the series, or withdraw it, after winning it last in 2007.
Congratulations .@imVkohli and the entire Indian team with another amazing win. What you all have accomplished together over the past 12 months is absolutely amazing! It is clear that the best test team in the world and the title are well deserved! Long live Test cricket ❤️❤️

Among the three best bowling performances I have seen as captain: Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli was lyrical about his bowling attack. Ravindra Jadeja did exactly what Kohli claimed during the throw: use the rough patches the right arm pacers created — he did it by taking some important wickets. Umesh Yadav cleared the tail with three strikes; while Shardul Thakur two wickets.
But it was Jasprit Bumrah who broke England’s back in the chase with astonishing figures of 22-9-27-2.
Kohli talked about the improved batting performance in the second innings, which prompted the team to set all guns on fire with the ball.
‘The best of both victories is the character the team showed. If you look at how the match went: you mention the 100-run lead that England had in the first innings — getting back from there and the way we hit in the second innings showed that we are not under is not. And we do not want to survive in this game. If there is an opportunity to put pressure on the opposition, we will go for it. And we put a total on the board that would always be hard to chase, especially in the last half of day 4 and 5, ‘the Indian captain said during the post-match ceremony.
‘As I also said at Lord’s, I’m very proud of the character the team showed, especially this morning how the team bowled. “It is definitely one of the three best bowling performances I have seen as Indian captain,” he added.
The fifth and final Test of the series will be played from 10 September in Manchester. The Indian team is facing a major scare as Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday.
