In the most recent twist, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) called their name 15-team for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will take place in Oman and the UAE.
Although there have been some surprising inclusions in the team, some big names have not been able to make a cut in the last 15. The exclusion of India’s leading wicketkeeper in T20Is, Yuzvendra Chahal, from the T20 WC team surprises a lot.
“Yuzi Chahal has been India’s best T20 spinner for the past few years. And he is the second best T20 spinner in the world, next to Rashid Khan. India picks 5 spinners, and he is not one of them. Let it sink in. #IndianCricketTeam, ” tweeted the cricketer analyst Aakash Chopra.

Meanwhile, during its first virtual press conference on Wednesday night, India’s chief selector Chetan Sharma revealed why wrist Chahal was not chosen and was young Rahul Chahar was elected above him.
‘We had a conversation about Yuzvendera Chahal and the selectors thought we needed a bowler who could bowl fast, and as we recently saw Rahul Chahar bowl, the speed with which he bowls, the selectors think we are so need a player, who can hold on to those wickets, and more speed, and there was a lot of discussion about Chahal, but we kept zero on Rahul Chahar, ” he said.
Speak of Varun Chakravarthy’s inclusion in the last 15 Sharma said: ‘Varun bowled very well at an economic rate of five in Sri Lanka. He is a mysterious spinner and people find it difficult to read him. I would say he is the surprise package. That was the main reason for choosing Varun, because he is a mystery bowler.
