Injury scares England as Stuart Broad adjusts his right calf during training session

The portal reported that Broad has not returned to the nets for his bowling, raising doubts about its availability for the second Test starting Thursday.

The English patient will undergo a scan tomorrow to determine the extent of his injury.

“Nottinghamshire’s Stuart Broad has adjusted his right calf in today’s warm-up at Lord’s,” BBC Nottingham Sport wrote on Twitter.

“He could not train with the rest of the English team this afternoon. “Broad will undergo a scan tomorrow to determine the extent of his injury,” he added.

Broad had an indifferent outing in the first Test when he struggled for control and eventually conceded more than 3.5 rpo. He did take a wicket in the second innings when he caused an outside of KL Rahul’s bat with an absolute Jaffa.

If he misses it, Mark Wood will likely play in the XI for the Lord’s Test, although they also have Craig Overton in the squad.
