The long-awaited second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 started on Sunday (September 19) with a delicious clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Dubai.
The MS Dhoni-led side performed excellently to trump MI in their reverse game. It was the sixth victory for the three-time winners, and they have now reached the top of the points ladder. The Super Kings need two more wins from their remaining six games to qualify for the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir named his four teams that have the potential to qualify for the top 4 positions. Unsurprisingly, Gambhir chose the current CSK as one of his choices.
The previous Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain went along Delhi Capitals (DC), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) like the other three teams. DC is placed in the second position on the leaderboard, followed by Virat Kohli’s RCB and MI by Rohit Sharma.
‘To me, the top four are Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. The positions can be changed with the matches, but the four are definitely favorites, “ say Gambhir Star Sports.
The 39-year-old called it further KL Rahul led Punjab Kings (PBKS) also gets a chance to advance to the playoffs.
