IPL 2021: Reason why RCB will wear a blue jersey against KKR

The players of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will wear a blue jersey in their match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the UAE leg of IPL 2021.

RCB will resume their IPL 2021 campaign against KKR in Abu Dhabi on Monday, September 20th.

The first time RCB changed the color of their jersey was during IPL 2011 to support the ‘Go Green’ initiative, and since then they wear the jersey for at least one game every season. Last year, the RCB team paid tribute to the COVID warriors during the 13th edition of the tournament by wearing a jersey with ‘My COVID heroes’ on the back.

RCB pays tribute to COVID-19 employees

RCB revealed on Tuesday that their players will wear a blue set, like the color of the PPE sets of the leading warriors, against KKR. The Virat Kohli-led side will also pay tribute to the workers for their valuable service as they lead the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

RCB will try to playoffs for the second consecutive season. The men of Kohli & Co. is currently in third place with 5 wins from 7 matches, tied for 10 points with a two-time champion. Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Delhi Capital (DC) is at the top of the table with 12 points in 8 games.
