IPL 2021 – Star Sports unveils English and Hindi comment panel for tournament

The Star Sports Network has released the list of the English and Hindi commentator panel for the second leg of the IPL 2021 to be held in the UAE. The season kicks off with Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Attention has shifted from the longest format of the game to the shortest, now that India’s tour of England has been abruptly cut short. Team India’s Test squad was supposed to leave England after the Manchester Test, but it was canceled so they could be flown away for 9 days from the resumption of the IPL.

Preparations for the biggest league in the world began in full with Star Sports unveiling the commentary panel for the tournament on Saturday. The official announcers responded to queries on Twitter and informed them about the stalwarts who will be commenting during the UAE leg.

Former players Irfan Pathan and Gautam Gambhir are the prominent members of the Hindi panel. Jatin Sapru probably heads the group, just as he did before for the IPL. As for the English boxing, the usual names like Sunil Gavaskar, Alan Wilkins, Ian Bishop and Simon Doull will be involved. Harsha Bhogle, who anchored the Sony Sports show for India’s tour of England, will repeat his lead role.

As it looks in IPL 2021

The UAE will host the remaining 31 matches of the cut-off IPL 2021 season. It resumes on September 19 and lasts until October 15. The qualifiers start on October 10 and the final will be played on October 15 in Dubai.

Delhi Capitals (DC) leads the table with six wins from eight games. CSK and RCB are in second and third place, each winning five out of seven games. The reigning champions MI are the last team in the top-4 qualifying places, and things are unlikely to change unless the bottom half starts to perform brilliantly.

Shikhar Dhawan leads the batsmen, scores 380 runs in 8 games and he keeps the orange cap. KL Rahul comes on a short second, with 331 runs from seven games. Both were excellent for their team at the top and will retain the bait in the second leg.

RCB’s Harshal Patel scored an incredible first half, only through a 37-run run, where he scored 17 wickets in seven games, including a fifty against MI. DC’s Avesh Khan was the most consistent bowler in the tournament, conceding at 7.70 rpo while picking up 14 wickets in 8 games.
