There is no doubt that Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan is an emerging talent and a future star of Indian cricket. His attacking approach and fearless attitude make him one of the most dangerous batsmen in the young crop of Indian players.
The left-handed victim played quite a few memorable shots for him Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians (MI). His heroic deeds in the cash-rich league helped him secure a place in the national team during the T20I series against England earlier this March. Kishan shines with the bat on his international debut, breaks a dazzling half-century and also wins the ‘Player of the match’ award.
This is a well-known fact that Kishan has always looked up to. former Indian skipper MS Dhoni and recently he talked about one thing he wants to learn from his idol.
“There are very few players who can give so much to their countries … We have all seen him beat from number 3 to number 6, but never complained and acted wherever he went. “This is something I want to do for the team – just go out and play wherever I get the chance,” Kishan tells Aakash Chopra on his Youtube Channel.
Kishan also showed how Dhoni always gives him various tips when he goes to the Ranchi-born superstar.
‘Every time I talk to him, it’s generally about wicketkeeping, or when we meet during the IPL, I share with him whatever I feel. For example, I would say to him: ‘Bhaiya, I can not perform after 1 good match’, and he will say: ‘It is possible that your hunger decreases after one performance and you do not focus enough,’ added Kishan.
Kishan was last spotted in India’s tour of Sri Lanka in July. He will return to action with the second leg of IPL 2021 in the UAE.
