The forward made his presence felt by sending his team through in the Conference League at the expense of Pacos Ferreira
Tottenham star Harry Kane has halted a busy 48 hours by twice making a net to see his side over Pacos de Ferreira in the Europa Conference League.
The striker put an end to a series of transfer speculations on Wednesday by handing over his future to the North Londoners.
And he was his first start of the season in style to ensure the continuity of the Spurs in the new competition.
Kane eliminated last week’s match in Portugal when Tottenham and Manchester City quarreled over his loyalty.
Without their star striker, Spurs got a 1-0 surprise with an under-strengthened team.
The new boss, Nuno Espirito Santo, finally welcomed Kane back at the weekend with a 20-minute prop from the bench against Wolves, and Kane was named in his starting lineup on Thursday to reverse the Conference League clash.
And he did exactly that and found the first two goals of his team before Gio Lo Celso put the result beyond all doubt when Spurs won 3-0 to progress 3-1 overall.
Kane’s match that won the match came on the heels of Wednesday’s statement yesterday, which finally calmed the minds of the Spurs after a summer of doubt as to whether their star would move to a rival in the Premier League.
“It was amazing to see the reception of the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some messages of support I have received over the past few weeks,” he wrote on Twitter.
“I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will focus 100% on helping the team achieve success. #COYS”
