Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday said they remain focused on the Milwaukee Bucks playoffs, despite accepting invitations to play in the Tokyo Olympics.
“We’re in the middle of a championship,” Middleton said. “To think for a moment about thinking about something outside of this season was a little hard to think about. But it was an easy decision for me to continue to commit.”
The U.S. team plans to arrive in Tokyo on July 21, with the first game starting on July 25.
If necessary, Game 7 of the NBA Finals will take place on July 22nd.
“I think I’re always focused on the immediate issue, what’s happening now. That was my main focus, and it’s going to stay that way,” Holiday added. “If we’re in the final or whatever, that’s what’s important so far.”
