Cricket fans eagerly await the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, resuming in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 19 September. The second phase of the fourteenth season begins Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Dubai.
Up to 31 matches take place in the Gulf country Delhi Capital (DC) leads the scoring. The CSK led by MS Dhoni is in second place, followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rohit Sharma’s MI.
Rajasthan Royals (RR), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), en Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is in the bottom four positions. While the Royals are in fifth place, the KL Rahul-led Punjab is in sixth place. The two-time champions KKR are in seventh place, and Sunrisers are in last place.
Teams have started meeting in the UAE to prepare themselves for the upcoming second leg of IPL 2021. Most overseas players are expected to be available, but some cricketers have withdrawn their names for various reasons.
Here is a list of overseas players not available for the UAE leg of IPL 2021:
Jos Buttler (RR)
The explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Butter will not play the remaining matches of IPL 2021 while expecting the birth of his second child. Buttler is an integral part of the Rajasthan team.
Pat Cummins (KKR)
Australian speedster Pat Cummins took his name out for personal reasons. The absence of Cummins would have an effect on KKR, which is already in the fourth position of the team.
Kane Richardson (RCB)
RCB fast bowler Kane Richardson will not take part in IPL 2021 as he prepares for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Riley Meredith (PBKS)
Aussie pacer Riley Meredith will not play for Punjab in the remaining leg as he suffers from a side strain.
Daniel Sams (RCB)
Daniel Sams will not be available for RCB as he has taken a breather due to mental health reasons. The franchise replaced him with Sri Lankan Dushmantha Chameera for the remaining leg of the lucrative league.
Jofra Archer (RR)
The elbow injury kept Jofra Archer out of action for the entire 2021s. His absence would definitely hurt the Royals for the remaining games.
Jhye Richardson (PBKS)
Another Aussie pacer who will not play the remaining matches in IPL 2021 is Jhye Richardson. Like Meredith, Richardson is also part of the PBKS side.
Adam Zampa (RCB)
RCB spinner Adam Zampa is preparing for the T20 World Cup and will therefore not play the remaining matches of IPL 2021. Sri Lankan superstar Wanindu Hasaranga as the replacement for Zampa.
Finn Allen (RCB)
Another RCB player who will miss the second leg of IPL 2021 is Finn Allen. The New Zealander is fulfilling the national commands. RCB has signed Singapore-Australian cricketer Tim David as Allen’s replacement.
