The reaction comes after reports of a dropout between the trio that the team is currently preparing to face Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday
Rhamelani Mokwena, co-coach of Mamelodi Sundowns, hit a mole at the club for leaking information to the media when he admitted allegations of disagreement in their technical team.
Recent reports suggests that working relationships between Mokwena and his co-coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, as well as Steve Komphela, have broken down.
This is the second season with Sundowns having such a coaching setup that came into being after Pitso Mosimane left.
“I read the article and was already expecting this question,” Mokwena said. Sport 24.
‘It’s hard to answer; It’s also hard not to be honest. But at the same time also to protect the club, because we have a very, very big game this weekend. Our focus and our energy must be on it.
‘But also in the corner of my brain it’s also necessary to make some things clear, and that’s a pity, because sometimes some things come out and you’re like’ oh God, how did it come about? ? ‘
‘This is probably the biggest problem, with a mole and people reporting certain things to the media. We should not have people in our club who follow such behavior, and it should not be allowed.
‘In any organization, every household, if ever there are relationships, there are, of course, one or two disputes or disagreements. It should not be blown out of proportion. ”
The reports of cracks in the Masandawana technical teams were further fueled by Komphela related to a move to Orlando Pirates.
The reports also come as the defending champions of the Premier Soccer League, Sundowns, are struggling to play convincing football.
Mokwena said he had difficulty explaining the situation within their technical team, saying one of them should ‘apologize’.
“You know I get personally disappointed when I’m on the other side, and to be honest with you, this question may have to be put to Manqoba Mngqithi coach,” Mokwena said.
‘Because there were reports in the media, there is an element of truth, but for me the coach apologized and we went further. It’s important for Mamelodi Sundowns to go further, and I have nothing more to add. ”
After not winning their last two games, a 0-0 league outing against Chippa United and the 1-1 MTN8 semi-final against the Golden Arrows, Sundowns are now shifting focus to Kaizer Chiefs.
They host Amakhosi on Sunday in a league match at Loftus Versfeld.
