Australian Min Woo Lee won the Scottish Open after beating Thomas Detry and Matt Fitzpatrick in a play-off match at Renaissance Club in East Lothian.
Last year’s winner of the ISPS Handa Vic Open set the target for the clubhouse of 18 under par after a rogue-free final round 64, which included six birdies in a row from the third hole. He was joined on the number by Detry and Fitzpatrick, who each scored 67s to force a three-way playoff game.
Lee hit his tackle on the first extra hole within ten yards and, after watching Detry and Fitzpatrick miss their birdie chances, he made the point to secure his first Rolex Series title and earn a spot during this week’s Open Championship at Royal St George’s alongside Detry and England’s Jack Senior, who finished third.
Lucas Herbert, Ryan Palmer and Ian Poulter shared fourth at 17 under, while Jon Rahm followed up his victory at the U.S. Open three weeks ago with a seventh-place finish.
