Bayern Munich midfielder Thomas Muller has admitted that he would have liked Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to have played the last years of their careers together.
The Argentine and Portuguese have both made sporting moves over the past few weeks, while the long-awaited favorite Messi has switched to Paris Saint-Germain, while the Juventus star Ronaldo has sealed an already famous homecoming to Manchester United.
The prospect of the two playing side by side, however, seems credible at one point after the former’s move to Paris and in the midst of talks the latter wanted to leave Turin – and now German star Muller has said it would only be a blessing for the sport have been.

Muller will avoid an immediate encounter with Messi or Ronaldo when he returns from international service at Germany, having been named in Hansi Flick’s first team for the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Bayern are alongside Barcelona, Benfica and Dynamo Ky in Group E of the Champions League this season, while Messi and PSG will face Manchester City, RB Leipzig and Club Brugge.
Ronaldo and United, meanwhile, travel with Atalanta and Young Boys to Villarreal, who beat the Red Devils in last year’s final, to travel to the Europa League.
