Newcastle have confirmed the signing of midfielder Joe Willock at Arsenal.
The 21-year-old played for the Magpies last quarter on a half-season loan from the Gunners and scored eight goals after joining the club in January.
Willock has signed a long-term deal with the club and will carry the number 28 as last term.
What was said?
“I’m buzzing to be here,” Willock said. Newcastle’s official website. ‘I loved my time here last season and I’m very happy to be back and a Newcastle United player.
‘Leaving Arsenal is obviously a big step, and I want to thank everyone who has been involved with the club for all their support over the years, but it’s the right move for me at the right club at the right time.
‘I just got a chance last season to play in front of a smaller number of Newcastle fans as a home player, so I can not wait to get in front of a packed St. James’ Park to get out and experience the atmosphere.
“Come on, you Maggies!”
Coach Steve Bruce added: ‘I’m delighted to secure our number one target.
“We had to be patient and persistent, but it was worth bringing Joe back.”
