Olympic Games Football: Egyptian Mohamed had to be sent due to Ceballos offense – Olmo

The forward of RB Leipzig claims that the Egyptian had to get his marches for his challenge

Dani Olmo said Taher Mohamed had to be sent to Dani Ceballos on Thursday morning for a challenge during Spain’s 0-0 draw against Egypt.

The Real Madrid midfielder limped off the field after being caught in the Sapporo Dome in the first half by a suit from the Al Ahly star.

Taher received the ball during the turn and was not aware of the presence of Ceballos when he closed. The striker’s foot was planted on the ankle of his opponent.

The incident was investigated by VAR, while match referee Adham Makhadmeh advised to look at a screen side.

After a long hiatus from the game for treatment and assessment, Taher is shown a yellow card.

Subsequently, the former Arsenal loanee is forced and replaced by Osasuna’s Jon Moncayola.

In his reaction to the match, Olmo was unhappy with the decision not to reduce the African team to ten men.

‘It seemed strange to me that the referee did not change the yellow card after consulting the VAR. “There was no doubt that the challenge required a red card,” he told the media.

“It’s no excuse, but Dani Ceballos and Oscar Mingueza are important and hopefully they recover as soon as possible.”

The RB Leipzig star also expressed his disillusionment that the case ended in a 0-0 draw.

“Obviously that was not what we wanted, we wanted to win as always. “We knew that Egypt would stay deep, but we had to play, as we usually do,” he continued.

“We lacked a little more verticality, but it’s good. Except for the draw, there are things to improve and we’re going to work on it.”

Meanwhile, the coach of the European team, Luis de la Fuente, revealed that Egypt got what they wanted, and expressed his satisfaction with the result.

A contradictory feeling. The first game is always tough, and injuries have disrupted us a bit, but I’m happy. “We have to keep thinking about the Australian game,” he said.

“We knew we were very strong. The problem is not the aggression of the player, but the person who allows it. Egypt managed to play its match.

‘There’s no time to relax and think of something other than the next opponent. We will see how we bring the players back and we will definitely be better than today. ”
