Ahead of the 2020 T20 World Cup this year, the Oman Cricket Association has invited Mumbai’s domestic team to play three T20Is and three ODIs in Muscat. The invitation was sent by the Oman’s development officer, Duleep Mendis, to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
The decision to do so amounts to Oman playing the qualifiers for the World Cup from 17 October. seasons including Ranji Trophy.
“On behalf of Oman Cricket we invite the Mumbai Cricket Team to play matches against Oman’s national cricket team. As we understand that both teams are currently preparing for the upcoming season, this is an excellent opportunity for the players to get good practice just before the start of the season,According to ANI, Mendis said in a letter.

The schedule sent out by Oman Cricket will be the Mumbai span to depart for Muscat on 19 August. They will then have to undergo compulsory quarantine, as is the norm everywhere, from 20 August. A day later, ie August 21, Mumbai may hold training sessions.
The logistics seem reasonable and therefore MCA is likely to continue with the tour. A source in the association told ANI that the details are the only thing yet to be worked out.
“We were invited for the tour between August 19th and September 3rd. The details of the tour to Oman are still being worked out,“The source revealed.
The T20 matches will mark the start of the tour. The three scheduled matches will be played on 22, 24 and 26 August. This is the main focus at the T20 World Cup qualifiers in mind. After that, the teams move on to the one-day matches, which will be played on 29, 31 August and then 2 September.
