The Soweto giants experienced a turbulent period late and they would like to continue during their visit to Limpopo
Orlando Pirates will be eager to pull themselves off a false start to their 2021/22 Premier Soccer League campaign when they face Marumo Gallants at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday.
After being kept at home by Stellenbosch 2-2 at home in the league match, Pirates’ title proofs were examined.
The two points dropped in their own backyard come seven days after they were eliminated from MTN8 by Soweto opponents Swallows FC.
This led to the departure of coach Josef Zinnbauer, who plunged the club into a difficult situation just at the start of the season.
Now they will want to bury a turbulent two weeks by demanding maximum points from Gallants.

Teams and team news
Coach Sebastien Migne’s team from Gallants has no suspended players for them in this big game.
But the availability of veteran defender Lehlohonolo Nonyane is uncertain after he only lasted 38 minutes against Baroka FC last Saturday, when he was replaced by Mpho Mvelase.
Pirates continue the fight without defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza suspended.
Nyauza got a straight red card in the first half from Stellenbosch and will miss this game as well as their home game against Swallows.
He played as a referee when he was sent off, but the interim coaches of Pirates, Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids, may not be too worried as Wayde Jooste is available to play in that position.
The other key players of the Buccaneers, Thembinkosi Lorch, Ben Motshwari and Innocent Maela, are struggling with fitness issues.
Striker Tshegofatso Mabasa is back from an injury, which increases the coach’s options in their problematic front line.
However, the availability of another forward Zakhele Lepasa is uncertain.
It’s not long ago when Pirates last met Gallants in a league game.
When the two sides last clashed in the final game of the 2020/21 season, Marumo Gallants was still referred to as Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and the Buccaneers were kept 0-0 at Orlando Stadium.
It was a result that almost derailed the Pirates’ attempt to finish in the top three.
The first meeting between Gallants and Pirates defeated the Soweto giants 3-0 at Thohoyandou Stadium in June.
Both sides play in the game in the background because they could not win their respective opening games of the season.
The same day when Pirates were limited to a 2-1 draw by Stellenbosch, Gallants were beaten 2-0 by Baroka FC in a Limpopo derby.
