The Japanese international spent the 2020-21 campaign at Getafe and Villarreal before playing at his home Olympics in Tokyo
Takefusa Kubo, wing of Real Madrid and Japan, is back in Mallorca with a season loan, both clubs have confirmed.
Kubo (20) made a strong impression on Mallorca during the 2019-20 season, playing in 36 games and scoring four goals.
After being loaned out to Getafe and Villarreal last season, Kubo will now return to the Balearic outfit for a second period.
Mallorca wins Kubo race
Mallorca were eliminated from La Liga after the 2019-20 season, but quickly returned to the Spanish top flight after finishing second in the Segunda division last quarter.
Purpose understand that Real Sociedad were interested in the services of Kubo for the season 2021-22, but they were beaten in the race by the former club of the wing of Japan.
Kubo joins Mallorca, who recently represented Japan at the Olympics, and the Samurai Blue finishes in fourth place in the tournament.
Kubo in Spain so far
Kubo joined Real Madrid at FC Tokyo in June 2019, but has yet to make his senior debut for the Blancos. Instead, the Japanese star represented three League clubs in two seasons during loan periods.
His most successful period was Mallorca in 2019-2020, with his period at Villarreal in the first half of last season after being mostly used off the bench.
Kubo joins Getafe, where he helps the club avoid relegation and finish 15th.
Overall, Kubo made 37 appearances in 2020-21 and scored two goals.
