The Portuguese superstar has returned to Manchester United and Real Madrid, as well as links to PSG, but he will remain in Turin
Cristiano Ronaldo has told Massimiliano Allegri that he is staying ‘at Juventus’, and a summer of unwelcome transfer speculation is coming to an end in Turin.
With a Portuguese superstar entering the last 12 months of his contract with Serie A heavyweights, questions were asked about how long he will stay.
Return to Real Madrid or Manchester United has been argued, along with long-running links to Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, but a five-time Ballon d’Or winner goes nowhere before the August 31 deadline for recruiting.
What was said?
Allegri asked about Ronaldo’s plans, and the 36-year-old said in the middle of a friendly match with Juve’s U23 team in the middle of the week: ‘Ronaldo did not play on Thursday because we have a had heavy exercise and I gave him half day off.
“Ronaldo is an extra bonus for us because he guarantees a large number of goals. Of course we also have to work as a team to get the best out of an individual.
“He always practiced well, I just read the gossip in the newspapers. He never told us he wanted to leave.
“Ronaldo told me he was staying at Juventus.”
Will there be more movement at Juve?
Ronaldo appears to remain part of Allegri’s plans for 2021-22, ahead of a season opener against Udinese on Sunday, while Manuel Locatelli was eventually lured away from Sassuolo.
There are rumors of further events before another window is closed, and Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic is a target while Aaron Ramsey is linked with a move to another place, but Allegri will be happy.
He added: “Market? I told the club that I am very satisfied with the available players; we must try to create value by improving the young players.
‘I’m pleased with the arrival of Locatelli. He grew a lot, became a major player.
“He’s not in optimal condition because he worked very little, he needs a few days, but after the break for the national team he will be in good condition. But if a quarter of an hour is needed , can already do it in Udine. “
