Bangladesh omnivore Shakib Al Hasan named his best ever Indian Premier League (IPL) XI, with some of the biggest stars in the tournament. Shakib, representing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the cash-rich league, selected MS Dhoni as the captain of his team.
Dhoni was captain Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to three IPL titles and an astonishing eight finals since 2008. The Ranchi-born superstar has scored 4,669 runs in 211 games in 23 half-centuries.
For the openers, Shakib went along Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma and former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper David warner. While Rohit is the fourth highest run scorer (5480) in the competition, Warner is right behind him in fifth place with 5447 runs.
Shakib also called Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and KL Rahul in his team. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Kohli is also the leading run (6076) in IPL. He is the only player to have crossed a point of 6000 runs.
Similarly, Raina is the third highest scorer in the profitable league. He scored 5491 runs in 200 games. On the other side, Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Rahul scored 2978 runs in 88 games.
The Bangladeshi veteran then got the name Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja as allrounders of his all-time XI. While Stokes scored 920 runs in 43 games and scored 28 wickets, Jadeja scored 2290 runs in 191 games and also claimed 120 headers.
Among the bowlers, Shakib teamed up with the MI duo of Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah with SRH’s leading pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Malinga is the leading wicketkeeper in IPL with 170 scales to his name in 122 matches. Similarly, Bhuvneshwar took 139 wickets in 126 matches. Meanwhile, Bumrah has 115 scales in 99 games.
