Senior Versatile Bangladesh Shakib Al Hasan selected three Indians in its one-day match. In a chat with Sportskeeda, Shakib chose the first pair Sachin Tendulkar and Saeed Anwar. Both Tendulkar and Anwar were productive batsmen for their respective batsmen. Tendulkar scored 18426 runs in 463 one-dayers, Anwar making 8824 runs for his country.
For the middle order, Shakib mentions West Indies’ explosive victim Chris Gayle, current Indian captain Virat Kohli and quality all-rounder Jacques Kallis. Kallis, considered one of the greatest all-rounder of the modern era, scored 11579 runs in 328 ODIs and scored 273 wickets.
Similarly, Gayle averaged 10,480 runs in 301 games at an average of 37.83. He is the only West Indian with a double century in one-day matches. As for Kohli, the Delhi boy has already picked up 12,169 runs from 254 matches with 43 hundreds.
For the wicketkeeper, Shakib went with the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The World Cup-winning captain played 350 matches, in which he scored 10,773 runs on an average of 50.57.
Among bowlers, Shakib selected three spinners and two fast bowlers. He names himself with the legend of Sri Lanka Muttiah Muralitharan and the Australian superstar Shane Warne. While Shakib scored 6600 runs and scored 277 wickets in 215 ODIs, Muralitharan bagged 534 headers from 350 matches. Similarly, Warne took 293 wickets in 194 games.
Shakib further mentions legendary pacers Wasim Akram and Glenn McGrath in his all-time ODI XI. Akram is the second highest wicketkeeper with 502 headers from 356 games. On the other hand, McGrath claimed 381 wickets in 250 ODIs.
