Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan regrets the spate of wickets his team had during the mid-overs in the third one-day international against Sri Lanka, acknowledging that the visitors are at least 50 runs short of an ideal target.
For the second game in a row, In the loses wickets in bunches during mid-overs such as Prithvi Shaw, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav for not taking advantage and is dismissed in the 40s.
India lost their way after the rain loss thanks to layoffs of Manish Pandey and Yadav, and they never recovered from the blow when the twisting duo Akila and Jaywickrama were riotous.
“It did not go our way. We tried some new players. We got off to a good start, but again we lost too many wickets in the middle overs. In the end, we were 50 runs short, ” Shikhar Dhawan said in the post – match presentation.
India gave up to as many as five unbeaten players in the third one-day match and Shikhar Dhawan was pleased that young players got their chance to excel in national colors after spending so much time in quarantine.

He signs off by saying he is looking forward to the upcoming T20I series.
” I’m glad the players made their debut because everyone was in quarantine for so long, and we had the chance because we sealed the series in the last game. I always analyze where I can improve and get better at strategies. Looking forward to the T20 series. Of course, we were positive that we could defend the target, but we knew we were short. The boys put up a good fight and it ended up being interesting. We must always keep learning, ‘said Dhawan.
