South Africa’s Burmester leads Switzerland

South Africa’s Dean Burmester chose 65 to take the lead in the halfway round of the Omega European Masters in Switzerland on Friday.

Burmester selected a superb bogey-free 5-under-65 to claim a two-stroke lead at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club.

“I played well both days, today I was just solid,” said the South African. those, who just set the tone for the day.

Bermster, who is number 97 on the world rankings, is aiming for his third victory in the European tour, with his last victory at the Tshwane Open in South Africa in 2017.

England’s Andy Sullivan is tied with Belgium’s second place Thomas Detry at 10 below, while Italy’s Renato Paratore put three strokes of the pass in fourth place.
