The blue and yellow take on Les Rouges as they write history and become Olympic champions in Yokohama
Sweden and Canada will round off with a gold medal on the line when they meet in the final of the women’s tournament in Tokyo 2020, at the International Stadium in Yokohama.
The blue and yellow want to go a step further than the silver they achieved five years ago in Rio 2016 while Les Rouges won the gold medal for the first time.

After falling on the last hurdle for Germany five years ago, the blue and yellow will be determined to rectify their grief, especially after a nervous, close victory over Australia – a team they have already beaten in Group G – their place booked the final.
After an injury in the early stages of the tournament made her chances go awry, Stina Blackstenius recovered to lead the line, while match winner Fridolina Rolfo and captain Caroline Seger are also one of them.
Predicted Sweden starts XI: Lindahl; Glas, Ilestedt, Bjorn, Eriksson; Angeldal, Seger; Jakobsson; Asllani, Rolfo; Blackstenius.
|Goalkeepers||Labbe, Sheridan, McLeod|
|Defenders||Chapman, Buchanan, Zadorsky, Riviere, Lawrence, Gilles, Carle|
|Midfielders||Quinn, Grosso, Scott, Fleming, Schmidt|
|Forwards||Rose, Leon, Sinclair, Viens, Prince, Beckie, Huitema|
Rugby rugby bronze medal victories in London 2012 and Rio 2016 have made it a case for Les Rouges so close and so far, but after defeating the USWNT tournaments, they are sitting on the edge of history.
Midfielder Quinn is surely the first open transgender medalist of the Olympics, and certainly looks like a bet to start after playing against the Stars and Stripes – while captain Christine Sinclair has a first major international honor since the Pan American Games in 2011 could win.
Predicted start of Canada XI: Labbe; Lawrence, Gilles, Buchanan, Chapman; Scott; Fleming, Quinn; Sinclair; Beckie, Prince.
