Switching to heat pump dryers could save consumers about £250 over a standard 12-year lifespan compared to older models. In contrast, the average condenser dryer costs around £129.56 annually to operate under current energy price caps.

This policy does not prohibit the use of existing inefficient tumble dryers, only the sale of new ones. As consumers navigate these changes, they must weigh both safety and efficiency in their choices.
