The more Jasprit Bumrah bowls, the better he gets: Sachin Tendulkar

Indian legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar cheers on India’s javelin Jasprit Bumrah for his excellent bowling against England in the second Test at Lord’s.

Bumrah was involved for the first time in an unbeaten streak of 89 runs on Monday along with Mohammed Shami, who hit the second half of his career. The duo’s fightback effort pushed India’s lead to 270 runs, with Bumrah scoring 34 off 64 balls.

India’s task was not complete as they had to take 10 wickets in 60 overs, and Bumrah was right on track, getting English opening batsman Rory Burns’ wicket on the fifth ball of the second innings.

Just after lunch, Bumrah forced English captain Joe Root to get his delivery on the back of 0f, who came comfortably into the hands of Virat Kohli with the first slip. Root’s dismissal paved the way for the Indians to march to their victory at Lord’s.

However, there was a fight between Jos Buttler and Ollie Robinson in the last overs. Both batsmen had to deal with the short balls of India and the defense of those bowled against stumps. With only 10 overs left in the match, the pressure shifted to India, who have picked the last three wickets.

Bumrah, who is bowling around the wicket, uses a slower ball to catch Robinson in front of the wicket and gives India the much-needed breakthrough. In the next round, Mohammed Siraj did the rest and picked up the wickets of Jos Buttler and James Anderson as India won the match by 151 runs and took a 1-0 lead.

When Tendulkar was asked about the bowler’s transition from the World Cup final to Lord’s, the former cricketer explained that the more balls Bumrah bowls, the better he gets.

‘I felt that Bumrah did not have long enough under his belt before the WTC final. He’s the kind of bowler who likes, the more he bowls, the better he gets. “He has not only a big heart, but also a brain, and we saw it yesterday when he outwitted Ollie Robinson with a brilliant slower ball to dismiss him after he peppered him with a few short balls,” said Tendulkar. told PTI.

“Today, this bowling attack is the best in the world. It reflects talent, discipline and the ability to work hard on fitness and want to learn more. I do not like comparisons over periods, because bowling attacks must also be judged by batsmen who bat against it. “Whether it was during the generation of Kapil or Srinath or Zaheer, there were different batsmen facing them,” Tendulkar added.
