Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici says keeping Harry Kane is a ‘goal for the club’.
Kane had earlier indicated that he wanted to move on from Spurs, indicating that he wanted to play in the biggest competitions and the biggest games. However, Tottenham will not be able to qualify for European football next season.
It is suspected that interest comes mainly from Manchester United and Manchester City, although Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also linked with the prolific forward, who is a three-time winner of the Premier League in Golden Boot. A tug of war could ensue between the player and the club, with the balance of power in favor of Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, as Kane is under contract until 2024.
What was said?
Paratici admitted that no talks had taken place between him and the English attacker who is currently on international service at Euro 2020.
The former Juventus boss said on Sky Sports: ‘Retaining Kane is not only a goal for me, but for the club as well. He is a top player. I was happy in my time at Juventus, I saw so many great goal scorers and I want to enjoy Kane too.
“I can not wait to see him. He is one of the best strikers in the world, he has an excellent physique and a good technique. He can shoot with both feet, he gives the teammates a lot of help.
“I have not spoken to him yet because I do not want to disturb our players during Euros.”
What next for Kane?
Kane are currently focusing on sacking England at Euro 2020, where they will play a semi-final against Denmark on Wednesday.
After a dry form for the national team, Kane burst into life in the final matches, scoring a late goal against Germany and then scoring twice in a 4-0 victory over Ukraine in the quarter-finals in Rome.
