And there were 30. It’s almost here, the one we’ve been waiting for; the tour championship. The FedEx Cup tournament starts at East Lake and ends the PGA Tour 2020-21.
And what a year it was, after a glorious PGA Tour tournament, the top 30 golfers of the season are set to battle for the biggest payday of all, the FedEx Cup trophy, with a whopping $ 15,000,000.
Preview of the tour championship 2021
This year’s FedEx Cup looks like the best season one of the best in recent memory. This trophy is of course one that players want to get their hands on, with the added bonus of the big winner’s share.
It will also be the last tournament for fantasy players until the upcoming Safeway Open, but do not expect that there will be too many superstars at the event. Although the first meeting of the season can offer good betting, as there is such a different player field, without most ‘big’ names competing.
Here are the details for the upcoming tour championship:
Dates – September 2 – September 5, 2021
Prize Price – $ 60,000,000
Winner Share – $ 15,000,000

Tour Championship – FedEx Cup Features and Treats
There are some peculiarities with the FedEx Cup, with some special rules applicable to winners and qualifiers of the tournament. Some of these are:
The 30 players who qualify for the Tour Championship automatically deserve an invitation to the Masters Tournament in Augusta.
The player who wins the Tour Championship receives a three-year PGA Tour release (if not already released), which means he can play on the PGA Tour for the next three years, no matter what happens.
The winner of the tournament championship is awarded with The Calamity Jane, a memorable sterling silver putter, which is the ‘trophy’ of the tournament.
East Lake in Atlanta, Georgia, has been home to the Tour Championship since 2004.
