Suryakumar Yadav, who earlier grabbed the man of the series award in the ODI leg, came to the crease in the seventh over. The 31-year-old immediately did business while continuing to turn the strike around and hit borders delightfully. Yadav played the spinners and pacemakers equally well, reaching his half-century of 33 deliveries. It consists of five fours and two sixes, which hit a beautiful 147.06.

Yadav’s innings ends tame as he aims to belt six more over the bowler’s head. The delivery of the spinner Wanindu Hasaranga turned a touch and it went in the direction of a prolonged turn. Ramesh Mendis held on to the catch when the 31-year-old beat for India at the wrong time. The tourists ended up with 164 on the board, as Suryakumar Yadav was the only half-captain.

Shikhar Dhawan scored a sluggish 46 from 36 deliveries, with India scoring just 43 runs from the last five overs. New ball bowler Dushmantha Chameera, who sacked Prithvi Shaw in the first ball of the innings, was the most successful bowler. He ends with figures of 4-0-24-2. But Yadav’s turn was probably the highlight.
