Twitter celebrates BCCI MS Dhoni appointed Team India mentor for T20 2021 World Cup

On Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-team Team India squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will take place between October 17 and November 14 in Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The return of Ravichandran Ashwin surprised everyone, while the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and Sanju Simson also left very disappointed. The biggest point of contention, however, came after the leading Indian council unveiled the former captain of the World Cup MS Dhoni would join the Indian outfit as a mentor.

No wonder the return of MSD in the team environment has caused social media, and there have been huge reactions from various cricket fans around the world and many former cricketers. This will be Dhoni’s first involvement with the senior team since retiring from international cricket last year. The Ranchi-born superstar last appeared for India in the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup New Zealand.

Senior Indian batter Dinesh Karthik mentions Dhoni’s recording as a ‘master stroke’. He also has his Tamil Nadu teammates Ashwin and Varun Chakravarthy.

โ€œIt’s a WHOLE team. Well done, selectors. MS DHONI – it’s also a masterpiece (Waving face Turning hearts Light smiling face) .Congratulations to everyone but more to @ ashwinravi99 and @ chakaravarthy29 from my neck of the forest. Well done, boys, โ€ tweeted Karthik.

Dhoni’s dearest friend and former T20 specialist team in India Suresh Raina expressed his emotions on social media. He tweeted: ‘All the best to #TeamIndia during the upcoming T20 World Cup, the selected group looks very balanced. Good to have @ ashwinravi99 back in the team, and a great decision from @bcci to have the man himself @msdhoni bhai as a mentor. “

Former opener in India Wasim Jaffer shared his reaction with a celebrity Rajnikanth dialogue from his film ‘Shivaji: The Boss’.

Former patient in India RP Singh reckoned that Dhoni’s return as a mentor would be quite special to Indian cricket.

“#MSDhoni was such a special player that he never has to make a return to the Indian team. But after retirement, her return as #MentorDhoni will be more special to Indian cricket. # T20WorldCupsquad # t20worldcup2021, “ Singh wrote on the micro-blog site.

Former spinner Pragyan Ojha writing: ‘Two big boost from the team’s announcement for the T20 World Cup! #Ashwin & #MSD as mentor! Brilliant @bcci @JayShah @ SGanguly99. โ€
